What happened?

The printer shows the message "Extruder motor is not spinning on tool #". In place of #, the number of the Dwarf board is shown.

This problem occurs due to increased resistance between the Dwarf connector and the cable connector, which is caused by the cable and connector being held too firmly in position.

Error name: EXTRUDER ERROR

Error code: #17536

How to fix it?

Update firmware

A firmware update to 6.2.0 RC1 or higher is recommended. Non-final firmware versions are available on our dedicated GitHub page. Once you download the file, follow the rest of the regular firmware updating procedure

Remove the 'dwarf-cover-connector'

Remove the dwarf-cover-connector, as it might hold the cable and its connector too firmly. Fully loosen the bolt that holds the part, and remove the bolt. The dwarf-cover-connector can then be spaced out more, and removed from the Nextruder assembly.

I'm using the secure-xl-nextruder-cable-connector-solution on my XL and with the previous beta firmware it worked without any issues. I had two nextruders that would stop turning for a like four months before this mod. I then installed the RC1 firmware and had two failed prints with red screens consistantly on nextruder #4 in the same position. So I loosened the bolt holding the two halves together three turns. I tried the print again and it succeeded! But Prusa needs to do something about these cable connectors on this $4500 printer. It can't be hit or miss with a random mod to fix a critical issue.

imo the problem is not that the plug is too tight but too loose and the contact deteriorates over time. Fastening the plug with a screw on the dwarfboard cover so that it can no longer move is the actual solution. here is a link for that: https://www.printables.com/model/1124941-secure-xl-nextruder-cable-connector-solution?_gl=1*d1nhn8*_ga*MTU5MjI0MTgwMi4xNzE3MTQ5MDI5*_ga_3HK7B7RT5V*MTczNjE3MjQ0NC42My4xLjE3MzYxNzI0NjAuNTMuMC4w
