We are proud to have customers all over the world. To make shopping with us outside of the EU (where we're based) as smooth and efficient as possible, we work with Global-e, our strategic international sales partner. While Global-e doesn’t handle the actual shipping of your order, they make the buying process smooth, transparent, and worry-free.

EU orders are not affected.

How it works

Make your order as normal. You are able to see the prices in your local currency. When paying for the final amount, the local taxes and duties are calculated in the final price, helping you avoid unexpected fees and customs delays, making the import process smoother.

Note that, with Global-e, it is not possible to make any changes to the order.

Differences based on the region

For customers in the USA, Australia, Canada, the UK, Singapore, New Zealand, and Malaysia: Import duties and taxes are (or will be, once we enable the new checkout in your country) included directly in the product prices. This means that on the product detail page or in the category listings on our e-shop, you’ll always see the final prices. Only local taxes (such as sales tax in the case of the USA and Canada) may be added at checkout. This ensures your package won't be held at customs waiting for payment, helping you get your order much earlier.

For customers in most other international regions: You will now have more clarity and choice. At checkout, you will see the fully calculated import fees for your order and will generally have the option to either:

  • Prepay everything in a single, final transaction.
  • Pay the import fees later, directly to the courier upon delivery.

Why Global-e appears on the invoice

Global-e acts as the Merchant of Record for these international transactions. This means they are responsible for the financial and legal aspects of the sale, including payment processing, tax compliance, and managing the overall transaction from a legal standpoint.

The new Global-e approach makes products being sent to New Zealand much too expensive! It applies a net tax rate of about 30% when it should be applying about 15%. Further, orders worth less than NZD$1000 (including shipping costs) should not taxed on import as parcels under this limit are ignored - now that is no longer the case. This change has made it uneconomic to buy a Prusa printer, let alone consumables like filament etc.... If you visit https://www.customs.govt.nz/sending-and-receiving/duty-and-gst/whats-my-duty-estimator and enter the non-VAT prices and shipping cost for a given Prusa order you will see that expect duty/taxes payable is a LOT less than what Global-e wants to charge. I don't want to use my hard-earned money to subsidise an American corporate. Please fix this or provide an "opt out" option during check out, because this option didn't exist when I tried it. I couldn't place a order because of this nonsense and now I find myself looking at Bambu instead, and I'm not happy about it!
