The Original Prusa MK4/S and MK3.9/S are equipped with two proprietary boards: the xBuddy and the LoveBoard. The two are connected by a main cable. When replacing a part in the extruder, you will be able to do so directly on the extruder, without needing to open the extruder cable bundle or the main board.

Each connector has a label near it showing the component attached there.

LoveBoard

This connector breakout board connects all the extruder cables. In order to access the LoveBoard, slide up the cover, and unscrew the love board cover right.

xBuddy board

The xBuddy is a 32-bit board, with Trinamic drivers for silent motor operation and Wi-Fi/LAN connection.

What part number are the connectors on the board? My ZR connector was loose and pins bent and I want to replace it on the xbuddy board

Is there a guide or schematics available on the electrical pinout of the board?

Can you explain what the four unlabeled ports are on the MK4 buddy board?
David B.

Hi! Those aren’t used so far - but are labeled on the board itself. The top one is for the MMU3.

On the left, there are:

-Ambient / Extra thermistor input (currently unused)

- USB-C (Device mode, not host; for PC connection)

- I2C bus expansion (currently unused)

- ESP Wi-Fi module expansion

- NFC antenna connector (currently unused)

On the right, there is an Accelerometer / expansion port.

In the middle, there are STLink and DFU boot connectors for programming / internal use and an universal EXPANSION port (currently unused).
